Kwikstert Motor Works is a fictional business made for a design portfolio. This page shows what the real page would say. No personal information is collected by this concept site: the booking forms are a dry run and sends nothing.
Who is responsible
Kwikstert Motor Works is the responsible party for the personal information described here, under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). The Information Officer is the owner, reachable on 021 000 3318 or at the workshop. Full business details are on the legal notice.
What we collect
- When you book: your name, mobile number, the make, model and registration of your car, the service you choose, the day and drop-off time, and any notes you give us.
- While your car is with us: the odometer reading, the VIN, photos of worn parts, the quote you approve on WhatsApp and the job card. These form the car's service history with us.
- When you pay: card payments are processed by our card machine provider. We keep the slip and the amount for tax records, never your full card number.
- When you visit this website: our host keeps short technical logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) to keep the site secure. They are deleted within 30 days.
Why we use it, and on what basis

We never use your number for marketing unless you ask us to, and we never sell or rent it. Service reminders are sent only if you opt in when you book.
Who we share it with
- Parts suppliers, only the vehicle details needed to order the right part
- Our messaging provider (WhatsApp), to send quotes and updates
- Our website host, card machine provider, bank and accountant
Some of these store data outside South Africa. We only use providers bound by laws or agreements that protect it as well as POPIA does (section 72).
How long we keep it
- Job cards, quotes and service history: five years after your last visit, so we can honour warranties and answer questions about past work.
- Payment and tax records: five years, as tax law requires.
- Website logs: up to 30 days.
Cookies
This website sets no tracking or advertising cookies and runs no analytics. The booking forms need no cookie to work. If that ever changes we will ask first and list each cookie here.
Your rights
You may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to how we use it. Call 021 000 3318 or ask at the counter. If you are not happy with our answer you may complain to the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za, POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za). Requests for records are covered by our PAIA manual.
